Factors determining cassava farmers’ accessibility to loan sources: Evidence from Lampung, Indonesia

Abstract Credit accessibility is crucial for sustainable agricultural development. However, the difficulty in accessing credit has caused farmers to take many considerations when taking a loan. This research aims determine factors determining access and sources cassava Lampung Province, Indonesia. Central was chosen as location because it had total production share of 36%. study used Isaac’s Michael’s formulae samples. The data were collected by interviewing 263 respondents. Of farmers, only 109 (41.4%) loans. Data analysed using Multinomial Logit Regression Model examine farmers. Marginal effect analysis also probability changes independent variables. results showed that type determined age, income, agribusiness experience, land size, education, organisation membership, experience ( R 2 = 89.1%). Partially, business significantly influence funding source. indicate size are main choosing types credit. Land biggest positive on farmers’ formal banks (11.49%).
